Michael attended the College of Architecture & Urban Studies at Virginia Tech (Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University) and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design for executive courses in residential architecture. He has practiced in the Washington DC metro area for over thirty years.

In early 2003 Michael established Nawrocki Architects, his own residential design office in Falls Church Virginia, and has since been busy with a great variety of residential work throughout the DC area and beyond.

Michael is a licensed architect and member of the American Institute of Architects. He has served on the Northern Virginia AIA Board of Directors and Chaired the NoVA AIA Design Awards Program for many years. Michael has been asked to sit on the juries of numerous local design award programs including the Fairfax County Exceptional Design Awards, the Falls Church Village Preservation Society Design Awards, the Washington DC area Inter-School Architecture Design Competition, The Washington-Alexandria Center for Architecture Student Scholarship, NoVA AIA  CANstruction, and others.

Michael and his wife Susan live in Vienna Virginia with their 15-year-old daughter Meredith.

Michelle Sadiarin Nguyen joined Nawrocki Architects in early 2007. After obtaining a degree in Industrial Design from James Madison University, Michelle's interests quickly expanded to include the larger scale design of custom homes.  Over the years, she has developed quite an expertise in the design and production of fine residential work and contributes her considerable skills and dedication to nearly every one of the office's projects.

Michelle maintains an interest in industrial design and is a founder of the Falls Church Virginia collaborative WhatWorks.  She was also a member of the 2007 & 2008 Northern Virginia AIA Design Awards Committees.

Well regarded by clients and co-workers, Michelle is a cherished and indispensable member of the Nawrocki Architects team.
